Our furniture refinishing class may be just the thing to add new life to that favorite piece. This class is an overview of the tools needed to do basic furniture refinishing.  The steps you should take to get the best results. Where to get the tools you need.  How and when to use the tools.  Where to find items for refinishing.  Refinishing safety. $25 takes about an hour.

Introduction to Woodworking with Hand Tools. 

I strongly encourage you to learn the fundamentals of hand tool woodworking so that you can better understand traditional furniture making. And you’ll also discover that some woodworking tasks are actually faster with woodworking hand tools!  What you need to get started.  How to take care of the tools you collect.  Where to find what you need to have in the most economical manner.  Some basics on how to use the tools that you will start with.  Shop and tool safety.  This class is generally 1 hour and the cost is $25.

Choosing a Workbench 

The most important tool in your shop.  How to size your bench for the work you want to do. What constitutes a workbench? For DIYers, a piece of plywood or MDF on a pair of wooden sawhorses can suffice. But as woodworkers, the more time you spend in the shop, the pickier you become over the definition and, ultimately, the type of workbench that best serves your needs.  The many vises and jigs that can be added to your bench.  $20 a discussion class with pros and cons of the various benches that are common and uncommon.
